I spend a lot of time advising men on the various ways they can find lasting love. I talk about positives changes to be made and the various dos and don’ts. But for this article, it’s time to put women in the hot seat. More importantly, what are the characteristics- or qualities of a good woman?
You know, a woman you want to settle down and have a full life with? When you’re out and about, dating women concurrently (otherwise known as MegaDating), keep an eye out for these qualities.
Qualities of a Good Woman
#1: Independence
A quality woman is an independent woman. There are many benefits of dating an independent woman, such as:
-She can introduce you to a variety of new activities and experiences
-She’s not clingy
-Independent women tend to be less prone to jealousy
-They’re more honest
-They don’t play games
-They are less worried about what you do on your free time
Quality #2: Honest
You can’t have love without trust, which is why it’s important you date someone who is honest. A quality woman is an honest woman.
Quality #3: Smart
No, she doesn’t have to be Einstein or hold five advanced degrees. However, it’s important that you find someone who is intelligent.
When you date a smart woman, you’ll notice that you can enjoy deeper and more stimulating conversations. Moreover, a smart woman is going to know what she wants and is less likely to be interested in playing immature games with you.
Quality #4: Kind
Don’t date a mean girl. Kindness and compassion are important in any relationship. When you’re looking for a quality woman, focus on women who are good friends and treat people with empathy.
Even the best relationships experience highs and lows. You want to find a woman who can show you kindness during your less than flattering moments and empathize with you.
Quality #5: Accepting of Flaws
Nobody is perfect. We all have flaws and it’s important to find a quality woman who is accepting of all parts of you.
Moreover, you definitely want to avoid women who attempt to change you. Although we should all strive to be the best versions of ourselves, a relationship with someone who wants to alter characteristics that are fundamental to your personality is no good.
Quality #6: Supportive
An ideal relationship is one where you and the person you are with truly feel like partners. That means supporting each other. Whether it’s a career change, a new hobby, or a hard time you’re trying to work through, you should find a quality woman who supports you during these times.
Quality #7: She Avoids Drama
The last thing you want is to date a woman who lives for drama.
These are the girls who are constantly engaging in gossip, playing mind games with guys and bemoaning a laundry list of issues that they deal with on a daily basis.
Don’t exhaust yourself by engaging with these types of women. A quality woman is one who avoids drama.
Quality #8: Confidence
For both men and women, confidence is one of the most attractive qualities you can have.
It’s important that you date a woman who is confident. When someone is confident, they possess a sense of self-worth that makes it easy to be emotionally available. A confident woman isn’t one who is going to try and make you chase after her, initiate arguments or attempt to take advantage of you financially.
Moreover, a confident woman knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. She isn’t going to get irrationally jealous or try to control everything you do.
Quality #9: She Knows How to Communicate
Communication is key to a happy, long-lasting relationship. A quality woman is one who knows how to communicate. She’s able to tell you when she has an issue instead of bottling things up and/or making passive aggressive comments.
Quality #10: She’s Not the Jealous Type
If you notice signs of jealousy, consider this a big red flag.
Remember how I said you can’t have love with trust? Well, if a woman is a jealous type, she’s going to have trouble trusting you. And you don’t even have to do a single thing for her to question you and fly into a jealous fit.
People who are jealous tend to be very insecure. This doesn’t bode well for a relationship. Sometimes people become jealous due to a bad breakup where they got cheated on, past issues or a fear of intimacy.
Whatever the reason, it’s important that this person deals with those issues before getting into a relationship. If the woman you’re dating has issues with jealous, don’t ignore it. A quality woman is one who doesn’t get jealous without a reason or is one who is willing to admit her issues and work through them.
Quality #11: She’s All About Compromise
There’s an old anecdote about how women are always right and always win arguments.
But the truth is, a quality woman is one who is willing to compromise. A healthy relationship isn’t about competition and seeing who can outwit the other when it comes to disagreements. Arguments can actually make your relationship stronger if you’re able to work through your issues and find common ground.
Find a woman who is all about compromise. And in return, be sure that you are able to meet her halfway as well.
Quality #12: She Takes Pride in Her Appearance
No, looks aren’t everything. And more importantly, you don’t want to date someone who is superficial or obsessed with appearance.
However, both you and the woman you date should take pride in your appearance. This means exercising and eating a balanced diet. Not only will you look your best when you do these things, but you’ll feel your best.
Taking pride in your appearance increases self-esteem and opens you up to a variety of possibilities when it comes to dates and bonding as a couple. I always recommend making a date more compelling by making it physical and fun. Find a quality woman who can get fit and adventure with you.
Quality #13: Humor
Laugh it up! A quality woman has a sense of humor.
Playfulness is an important part of any relationship. Finding someone who you can laugh with strengthens your connection and makes it easier to be vulnerable.
Quality #14: Down-to-Earth
You want to find a woman with a good head on her shoulders. As I said, it’s important for a woman to take pride in her appearance, but you don’t want someone who is materialistic.
A down-to-earth woman is one who lives her life authentically. You don’t have to constantly guess what she’s thinking or worry about her getting super dramatic. She also has realistic expectations and isn’t going to expect you to be perfect. A down-to-earth woman is also one who is able to not take herself so seriously and is understanding.
Qualities of a Good Woman #15: Passionate
Find a woman who is passionate. A passionate woman is someone who is willing to take risks if it means personal growth and achieving her goals. Being passionate goes hand-in-hand with being independent.
When you date a passionate woman, you will become inspired. A passionate woman will support you when it comes to your dreams and the two of you can take on projects together that you are passionate about.
Dating someone who is passionate also prevents your relationship from getting stale or the two of you falling into a rut of doing the same thing all the time (i.e., order takeout, watch Netflix and repeat).
